On Saturday, 21 September, from 10:00 to 17:00, the RDC Deutschland group invites you to an interactive Day of Rail in Niebüll. There will be an action programme for all ages at the workshop site on Rathausstraße.

The importance of rail for tourist traffic: Discussion round on the Day of Rail at 10:15 with Mayor Thomas Uerschels, Dirk Flege, Karl-Peter Naumann, and the RDC management
Whether on holiday in Niebüll or as a connection to the islands of Föhr, Amrum, or Sylt – the railway heart in Niebüll beats for islanders, commuters, tourists, and businesses alike. With the RB 66 line, Niebüll – Tønder, the Norddeutsche Eisenbahn Niebüll, part of the RDC Deutschland group, also creates a connection to neighbouring Denmark. Furthermore, holidaymakers can reach their destination on the AutoReiseZug from Hamburg-Altona ↔ Lörrach, covering around 900 km of rail network overnight, including children, pets, cars, or even motorcycles. Additionally, the RDC Deutschland group operates the German section for SJ services from Berlin ↔ Stockholm. So what is the significance of rail for tourist traffic, what strengths does it possess, and what improvements are necessary? Mayor Thomas Uerschels, Dirk Flege, Managing Director of Allianz pro Schiene, Karl-Peter Naumann, Honorary Chairman of pro Bahn, and the RDC management will provide insights during a panel discussion. Questions from all visitors and guests will be gladly answered afterwards.

Workshop, locomotive, and control centre tours
Children, parents, railway fans, and all interested parties will have the opportunity to look behind the scenes on Saturday, 21 September. The trained RDC staff will provide exclusive insights into the workshop, the locomotive, and a signal box on the Day of Rail.

Ride a draisine, cut rail, promote
Whether young or old – the draisine is all about fun, and everyone can train their biceps. Those who want to challenge their leg muscles afterwards can try their hand at goal wall shooting; there will also be a bouncy castle for the younger visitors. "We look forward to an interactive day and warmly invite everyone to get to know our team and our industry," says Dr. Markus Hunkel, Chief Executive Officer, RDC Deutschland. In addition to the many action and participation stands, all interested parties are invited to learn about entry or re-entry opportunities. "As a training company, we offer various vocational training opportunities for young school graduates. Furthermore, we qualify career changers as train drivers. We are proud to connect people as a railway company and to strengthen the location and the region as an employer," adds Hunkel.

Hey Julius! and The Figs rock the stage

The Kiel duo Hey Julius! is already well-known in Northern Germany. On the Day of Rail, the band will musically entertain all visitors from 12:00. At 15:00, the band The Figs will bring pop-rock with strong influences from the 60s and a hint of surf vibes, all made in Hamburg.

There will surely be one or two surprises. The local partners from Niebüll will also provide for the culinary well-being.
