BTE AutoReiseZug between Hamburg-Altona and Lörrach starts the season on 16 May.

BahnTouristikExpress is making final preparations to connect holidaymakers and travellers between the north and south on a 900 km rail network starting Thursday, 16 May.

The team of around 125 at BTE BahnTouristikExpress GmbH is finalising preparations ahead of the season's inaugural journey of the BTE AutoReiseZug, which departs on Thursday evening, 16 May, from Hamburg-Altona towards Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg. For the approximately 900 train kilometres, up to 200 passengers will have sleeping and reclining carriages available for their journey between northern and southern Germany. Along with family and friends, personal vehicles, whether cars or motorcycles, are part of the travel luggage. Up to 7 vehicle transport carriages, capable of carrying up to 50 cars, will be used for this purpose. The organisation of maintenance and servicing of the vehicle fleet is handled by RDC Asset, part of the RDC Group, based in Hamburg, through various maintenance service providers. In total, services will be offered in both directions on 100 travel days from May to October.

For travellers, using the BTE AutoReiseZug means "sleep once and then arrive", as departure times are always scheduled for the evening. From check-in to loading processes and departure, the trained team of BTE BahnTouristikExpress GmbH is personally available to all customers. Service staff, loading masters, and train drivers are continuously trained and further educated to provide all travellers with a pleasant overnight journey from booking to arrival. The sleeping and reclining carriages are equipped with washrooms, sanitary facilities, and power sockets. Customers can expect prepared compartments for the night, with breakfast served in the compartment in the morning. Small snacks and drinks can be purchased on board until midnight. For younger guests, there is a little surprise available at check-in.

"Our customers should feel comfortable from booking to arrival, and we are constantly optimising our processes for this. After each season, we analyse what we can improve – we rely on feedback from our employees as well as, of course, feedback from passengers," says Wolfgang Seyb, Managing Director of BahnTouristikExpress GmbH (BTE).
