The blue AUTOZUG Sylt

In fall 2016, our blue AUTOZUG Sylt transported passengers in their own vehicles for the first time from the mainland to the island of Sylt – and vice versa. Departures to the popular island are from Niebüll, Schleswig-Holstein. Up to 110 vehicles with their occupants can comfortably travel by train every 60-90 minutes past the dikes to their destinations of Westerland or Niebüll. The scheduled travel time for the approximately 40 train kilometres in both directions is 35 minutes. From the end of loading until the train's arrival takes about 45 minutes. Cars, SUVs, vans, motorhomes, heavy lorries, trucks, buses, as well as vehicles with trailers or caravans are all transported.

Connected between the mainland and the island with "Debbie" or "Anne"

In bright blue, the locomotives from Siemens, type Vectron, named "Debbie" and "Anne", shine brightly. These locomotives are among the quietest and most efficient diesel-electric locomotives in the world. They reach a top speed of 160 km/h, with the engine sourced from MTU. With their power, the blue flat wagons are pulled onto the island.
